Brief:

ActionScript, the programming language of Macromedia Flash, is the most sought after software skill in programmers and designers who wish to make a career in eLearning & web-content development industry. A large number of companies have realized the potential of ActionScript programming in authoring web-based applications, which has resulted in a terrific growth in the recruitment of ActionScript programmers/Flash developers. eLearning and web content development industry, is the biggest recruiter of ActionScript programmers, and is currently experiencing a dearth of good programmers. With the industry poised for explosive growth in the coming years, this requirement is expected to grow even more.

This workshop is an avenue to explore the possibilities of ActionScript programming as a fulfilling and rewarding career. If you want to see what ActionScript can achieve; if you want to find out how it is used; if you want to enter the arena of multimedia action; this workshop is for you!

Who Should Attend this Workshop?

  • Flash Designers who have some knowledge of programming using ActionScript, but wish to learn it in a systematic and effective manner with a desire to pursue career as an ActionScript programmer/Flash Developer.
  • Graphic Designers with knowledge of Flash as a drawing tool who wish to switch over to the role of ActionScript programmer/Flash Developer.
  • Flash Programmers working as website developers but with passion to create interactive presentations, webstites & WBTs/CBTs with focus on eLearning interactions and simulations.
  • Javascript and HTML programmers who would like to shift to a more rewarding and satisfying career of a Flash Programmer.
  • Fresh MCAs / GNIITs / Graduates who enjoy both multimedia & programming; do not find C++/ Java/C# interesting; but wish to make a career as programmer in the software industry.
  • Programming professionals with knowledge of Flash who would like to explore a more remunerative programming career option with the eLearning industry.

About ActionScript:

In the year 1997, when Flash 4 made designers fell in love with its smart and handy Actions palette, not many of us realized the potential it held. True…it lent color and interest to the web, but then Flash was just a little cub, playing in a jungle called the World Wide Web. Then the cub began to grow. With Flash 5, ActionScript was introduced. With the advent of Flash 5, Flash designers began to wonder whether it was their job to work on ActionScript.

Macromedia helped this decision-making by elevating the level of ActionScript to an almost complete programming language from a mere script. Now the artistically inclined could take the designer route, and the logic-lovers could become ActionScript developers. Yet, it wasn’t all that easy! For designers, the concepts of stage, timelines, movieclips, layers, and symbols was easy to understand; but variables, conditional statements, loops, arrays, functions, classes, and components continued to mystify them. On the other hand, these programming concepts came easy to a programmer, but they were stumped by their use in an entirely new, multimedia driven environment.

Taming the tiger called ActionScript is easy when you know how. Learn to tame this tiger and make the world watch in awe. Breathe life into courses, websites, and presentations while others sit on the sidelines and watch.

Learn more about this tiger and about the ways to tame it. Attend the FREE ActionScript Orientation workshop by Wavelength.
