Q1
I see that you have two different courses
on content writing, the CWWC and the IDCWC. How are they different?
Ans:
The CWWC and the IDCWC courses are essentially different. The CWWC
Online addresses the skill of writing any kind of content for
the web (websites, blogs, promotional content etc.) while the
IDCWC Online addresses the skill of writing content with the
objective of enabling learning.
Here are short summaries of these courses and the corresponding
audiences.
- The CWWC Online (Content Writing
for the Web Certificate) course aims at making
you an accomplished web content author. This course assumes that
you write well, and that you wish to explore the medium of web
either by writing for websites or by setting up your own blog/website.
This course helps you understand the nuances of web-publishing
and web-authoring, and enables you to use them to your advantage.
Thus, the audience for the CWWC Online
course include all those individuals who write well and who are
interested in publishing their content on the web..
- The IDCWC Online (Insructional
Design and Content Writing Certificate) course
aims at enabling the learner to design courses and create storyboards
for content development. The IDCWC Online course focuses on content
development professionals who are new to the field and who are
engaged in content creation for eLearning. Thus, the right audience
for the IDCWC Online course is an individual
who is excellent at writing English and who wishes to learn Instructional
Design with an eLearning focus.

Yes. The readings will be in form of html pages and interactive

at a specified time?
Ans:
Wavelength's online discussion forum operates in asynchronous mode,
which means that you can login according to your convenience. You
will be required to make your posts by a particular day, but you
can decide when you want to make it. For example, on Tuesday your
facilitator may ask you to make your post by Thursday, which means
that you can make it any time between Tuesday and Thursday.
Q4
At any point during the course, will I be
required to visit Wavelength, Noida?
Ans:
No. The main idea behind online courses is to provide you the convenience
of studying from home. However, you need a reliable Internet connection
for taking this course.
Q5
When will I receive my certificate?
Ans:
You will receive your certificate one month after the successful
completion of the course.
Q6
What will determine whether I have successfully
completed the course?
Ans:
§ The quizzes, assignments, discussions, and online test are
all graded. You will need to achieve pass grade in these.
§ You will also have to complete all graded activities within
the stipulated time.
Q7
You've asked us to complete the form and send
you copies of some documents. What are they for?
Ans:
An instructional designer is an individual who is involved in content
creation process. This means that a certain level of intellectual
maturity is desired in the individual, which we feel comes only
after graduation. Even those who are in the final year can apply
for the course. Most eLearning organizations also have similar requirements.
As Wavelength's courses are geared towards meeting the requirements
of eLearning industry, we review the certificates to map the participant's
profile to the requirements of the course.
Q8
What are my prospects upon completing this
course?
Ans:
Wavelength's online courses have been setting standards for online
learning in India. They've achieved this by consistently ensuring
that the course objectives are met. One of the main objectives of
the CWWC Online course is to make you proficient in authoring web
content that is effective. The effectiveness of web content is mainly
determined by how friendly it is to the audience as well as to the
web-technology. Upon completing this course successfully, you would've
developed the competency of writing content that succeeds on both
these counts.
An individual with such skills is a rare asset who can find work
in freelance, part-time, or full time capacities (with web-content
development companies.) This course would help you acquire a skill
that would be handy in establishing a new income source, augmenting
your current income depending upon your requirements. It could also
enable you to create your personal space on the web, either in form
of blog or a personal site; which could multiply your personal brand-recall
for your prospective customers or employers.
