Who Should Join this Course?

  • Print Media Designers who have knowledge of media packages such as Corel or Photoshop, but wish harness the power of Flash to make their big move into the web or the eLearning industry.
  • Graphic Designers who wish to switch to Flash Programming but do not have knowledge of Flash package. Graphic Designers who have knowledge of media packages such as Corel, Illustrator, Photoshop, but no knowledge of Flash; who are more comfortable with logic than with creativity and would like to move into the exciting world of interactivity through Flash programming
  • JavaScript, C++, C Sharp, Java, and VB Programmers who would like to embrace Flash ActionScript programming, and wish to learn Flash as a bridge that would connect them to the exciting world of interactivity through ActionScript programming.
  • All individuals who wish to pursue the ActionScript Developer Certificate (ASDC) course from Wavelength, but due to lack of Flash knowledge, have not been able to.

Puneet has been working in the field of media since 1996. He has worked extensively in the print media as well as digital media. He has more than 11 years of rich experience of executing projects for the web, eLearning and printing industries. He has been involved in web-development, eLearning content development, printing & packaging for multinational organizations. Puneet has excellent command over Flash, ActionScript, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Draw. He has been working on Flash since the days of Flash 4 and it still is the closest to his heart.

Pre-requisites for the Course :

The candidate taking this course

  • should be a graduate.
  • should be good at using computers and should have worked on any software package.

Course Objectives: Upon completing this course the learner will be:

  1. capable of using Flash for creation of graphics and animations.
  2. comfortable with the concepts behind the various items of the Flash interface.
  3. capable of using Flash in an effective manner in order to learn either Flash ActionScript programming or eLearning Media Design confidently and effectively.

Course Level: Beginner to Intermediate.

  2. Different perspectives on the use of Flash
  3. Understanding the different interface elements conceptually
  4. Using the interface elements
  5. Differentiating the Design features from the Programming features
  6. Using the tool palette effectively
  7. Understanding and managing colors correctly
  8. Understanding the concept of vector art
  9. Creating graphics and animations for the web
  10. Understanding and using symbols logically and efficiently
  11. Appreciating the power of movieclip
  12. Organizing content within movieclips
  13. Understanding and using the different text types logically
  14. Importing into and exporting from Flash
  15. Understanding the use of components in Flash
  16. Working with raster graphics in Flash
  17. Audio and Video in Flash
  18. Orientation to ActionScript - the programming language of Flash

  • Course Design, Development, Implementation based on Instructional Design Principles
  • Home Assignments
  • Classroom activities and Quizzes
  • Continuous Evaluation and Feedback
  • Weekly discussions on Wavelength's Online Discussion Forum
  • Online Test at the End of the Course
  • Mock Discussion

Course Duration:

  • One Month Course – with classes on Sundays.
  • Two Classes (1.5 hours each) per Week with a 15-minute –break between classes.
  • Additional time the student has to spend on the Assignments and other activities – 6 to 8 Hours per Week.
