Brief:

Media is probably the most important as well as the most prominent component of any kind of eLearning content; yet, it fails to receive the due recognition. When the graphics or the animations don't look so good, almost everyone in the world grimaces and says - "There isn't something quite right about this picture! I can't really place my finger on it...but, I can feel it!" Can you believe it? Almost everyone is ready to judge a visual...not about as many are ready to pass their judgment on the written word or a programmed line of code!

This places the graphic designer into an odd position where the visual creation has to be defended. Many great works are shot down because the graphic designer didn't consciously know the concepts that lay behind the greatness of his or her creation. Had the graphic designer known that sub-consciously he or she had applied the principles of digital design, usability, interface design, audience mapping, and content-relevance; the work could have found its rightful place.

This workshop intends to introduce you to the use of media and to the life of the media designer in an eLearning scenario. It will help you explore media in a new light and equip you with a better understanding of the eLearning industry. It will also try to light your path towards knowledge-based graphic design.
