Welcome to this edition of Wavelength.

Oh dear Winter…I love you and I hate you! I love you for taking the sweat away, for making me realize how blessed I am that I have my blanket, my woolens, my cup of coffee, my sunshine, and my loved ones around me…keeping me warm and happy. I hate you for my aching back and torn ligaments, for the increasing numbness in my fingertips, for the freezing cold tap water, for the pain and helplessness that I feel when I see others who aren’t as fortunate as I am. But above all these, my precious Winter, I thank you for rousing me from my deep careless slumber and helping me see the abyss that I may slide into, if I don’t wake up and take stock!

Winter this year arrived at our doorstep bringing with it tidings of deteriorating relationship with our immediate neighbor, a rapidly worsening world economic order, and a possible need to tighten our belts. All in all, the glum and the depression is seeping into our bones and our hearts numbing them to keep out pleasure as well as pain – but even pain is better than numbness for it tell us that we are alive. As trainers, we can make our audience feel more alive by making their numbness disappear – we can enhance our training programs by designing the right kind of training games. Wavelength’s Mystery of the Month article for December 2008, “The Game of Training games," at http://www.vibrantwavelength.com/training_games.htm will assist you in increasing the liveliness-quotient of your training programs.

On January 01, 2009, Wavelength’s online courses find two new companions, the IDT Online and the ELT Online.
