From the Editor's Desk - December 2009

Welcome to the December edition of Wavelength.

The year is drawing to a close. We are standing at the threshold of the New Year, 2010. This time is always special for Wavelength – it was born with the New Year.

The first edition of Wavelength was published on January 04, 2005. With this edition, it completes 5 years. These 5 years have seen a tremendous change in the content industry of India. These have been the years of realization and consolidation for the entire industry. These years have had an enormous impact upon Wavelength too. They have helped reinforce its competencies and made it stronger in its resolves.

This month, I also have another news to share. This news should interest those who enjoy the Wavelength articles, and who’ve taken and appreciated its courses/training programs. I’ve finally taken the plunge. I’ve started a web-log of my thoughts. As this web-log will present my viewpoint on the “why” and the “how” of the learning phenomenon, I call it The Zen of Learning. I hope to make this blog a place of quiet reflection.

You can visit my blog at http://thezenoflearning.wordpress.com.

The participants of our training programs would know that I have a strong belief in the instructional prowess of fiction writing. I always recommend reading novels, as a productive hobby to whoever is willing to listen. You may ask why? Find out by reading the Wavelength article, “Learning Instructional Design from the Real Gurus – The Fiction Writers!

Here are the two workshops that are scheduled for January 2010. If you are interested in any of them, please write to us at connect [at] vibrantwavelength [dot] com.

  2. Instructional Design for Trainers (3 Days), January 28 to 30, 2010 (Thursday – Saturday)

The Online courses on Instructional Design/Content Writing for the Web will begin their next sessions on January 1, 2010. Registrations for the session beginning April 01, 2010, will open shortly. I once again request the interested participants to send their applications in time. I also request them to map their learning requirements to the right course and go through the details of the program.

I thank you all for being with Wavelength, inspiring us to stay strong through the hard times, and strengthening our resolve at each step. Thank you, dear friends. I also wish you all a very happy, bright, and active New Year 2010.

Warm Regards,
Shafali
