From the Editor's Desk - July
2006

Welcome to the July 2006 issue of Wavelength.

The biggest news this month is that Wavelength’s IDCWC Online course was launched on July 01, 2006, as planned. It was a moment of great pride for us, when we met the participants of this session in their respective discussion forums. This month and the next, the Wavelength team will be busy making everything comfortable for those who have entrusted us with this responsibility. We will also be busy with some corporate training programs at Bangalore and Mumbai. But however busy it might become, I will always bring this newsletter to you every month.

Among other things, Wavelength is also planning to introduce two new courses in the coming year. The plans are already off the drawing board, and the announcement for the first course will be made shortly.

This July, the Mystery of the Month section of Wavelength drags out an issue that continues to stare at us with its menacing yellow eyes, daring us to throw it out of our industry. We reviewed this issue last year, but this month we return to evaluate it from a different perspective. We try to find the reasons behind the existence of the plagiarism monster. We try to reflect upon why a person may wish to replace the joy of creation, with the shame of copying. I think it were the cases of Kaavya V’s plagiarized novel and Vladimir Putin’s plagiarized dissertation that galvanized me into this reflective expression.

The serial, “Managing the Ephemeral Time,” reaches its conclusion with this issue. The focus is on F. W. Taylor’s ideas on time management. I hope the readers have found this serial useful..

The next session (October 2006 to December 2006) for the IDCWC Online (Instructional Design & Content Writing Certificate) course will be beginning on October 01, 2006. Registrations for this session are on. Please click the following links to read the details of this course:

The next course groups for the IDCWC contact course and the ActionScript Developer Certificate (ASDC) course will start classes on July 31, 2006. Click the following links for details of these courses.

2. ActionScript Developer Certificate (ASDC) Course

I wish you all very happy, cheerful, and colorful Monsoons.

Warm Regards,

Shafali R. Anand.
