From the Editor's Desk - June 2005
Welcome to the very special sixth issue of Wavelength. This
month Wavelength gets a home it can call its own. The irritating
pop-ups, the banner, and sidebar advertisements are all things of
past…now you can enjoy Wavelength uninterrupted! Wavelength
now resides at http://www.vibrantwavelength.com. And this isn’t
all; Wavelength also introduces a new section called “Serials,”
which deals with topics that are big for a single issue yet not
big enough to become a permanent feature.
This month Wavelength also publishes the views of some of its esteemed
readers and thanks all who have subscribed to Wavelength and helped
it find its feet. This month Wavelength will appear in more than
300 mailboxes across India. Before we move on, thanks are also due
to readers of Wavelength who have sent their suggestions. I hope
to implement as many as I can.
The "Mystery of the Month"
for June is “The Paradox of Creativity Management.”
This article is a tentative road map into the less traveled and
seemingly forbidding territory of Creativity Management. Unfortunately,
despite its usefulness in improving efficiency, productivity, happiness
index of employees (if such a parameter exists,) and quality; most
managers prefer to let creativity management be the last on their
to-do list.
We shall begin by unveiling the term “creativity’ and
then analyze what makes a good creativity manager. This article
is also the thought-stirrer for the contents of our first serial,
which is naturally called “Managers of Creativity.”
I invite all eLearning project managers to share their experiences
on creativity management. With its reach across the Indian eLearning
industry, Wavelength can help share knowledge across organizations.
According to andragogy, an adult learner learns best by comparing
experiences; so this sharing will probably lead to an exponential
growth in our cumulative knowledge.
The "Site of the Month" for June deserves a special
mention as one of the most stimulating techno sites on the web.
Remember to check it out.
I would like to thank you all for sending me your views and
subscribing to Wavelength. I hope that your interest and emotional
bind with Wavelength grows each month, and Wavelength truly turns
vibrant by reflecting your energy.
Warm Regards,
Shafali R. Anand.
