From the Editor's Desk - May2005
Welcome to this issue of Wavelength. Summer is here and so are
new projects. New projects, as we all know, are mercurial in nature.
It's difficult to predict the direction in which they will take
off. There are times when an instructional designer is caught in
the high-energy act of ensuring that the project stays focused and
on the right instructional track. Burdened with these responsibilities,
yet endowed with limitless creativity, he writes a script.
An instructional designer’s popularity within an organization
is inversely proportional to the amount of discomfort it causes
to the remaining team. The discomfort usually arises due to time
spent in fruitless interactions that take place during the course
of development. Some times an instructional designer is caught on
the wrong foot because he didn’t know enough about the development
tools.
The "Mystery of the Month",
that Wavelength sets out to unravel this month, is, what I call
peripheral learning. This learning is essential for all those instructional
designers and content developers who desire to create content for
eLearning.
For the graphically inclined, this month Wavelength has found something
wonderful. Remember to check out the Site of the Month!
I would like to thank you all for sending me your views and subscribing
to Wavelength.
Warm Regards,
Shafali R. Anand.
