Hello Friends,
Welcome to this edition of Wavelength.
November has been quite nice. In fact, it’s been slightly
chilly, slightly busy, and very very interesting. I couldn’t
have been anything else with the India-Pak ODIs and Test Matches…right?
Speaking of cricket, the 20-20s were an excellent variation that
introduced a new strain of cricket virus in our country. If you
ask me, I am still a fan of the ODIs. The reason is simple. The
ODIs and I grew up together!
I can still recall the India vs. West Indies ODI played at
Lord’s in London, when India won the match and the world cup
by 43 runs! It was a hot summer night in Ajmer, when we beat the
June heat magnified many times over by the absence of electricity,
by listening to the commentary on our transistor radio. In a colony
situated in the suburbs of Ajmer, I saw the match that was held
in London, through my mind’s eyes; and I jumped and danced
when the Indian team won!
The ODI bug then and the 20-20s bug now have some degree of
similarity with another bug that has recently become very active.
Organizations bitten by this bug feel the need for immediate attention,
and they often find their concern being addressed by the wrong doctor!
This bug is the eLearning bug! Just the way the ODIs and 20-20s
bugs result in a fever that is contagious, so does the eLearning
bug. Just the way we feel great about winning the ODIs and the 20-20s,
we feel like winners when the eLearning solution works…and
when it doesn’t? Well!
This month, we have a list of some excellent preventive measures,
which will help all those organization, which have recently been
bitten by the eLearning bug. Read “Outsourcing
eLearning Development” to discover the main issues that
affect eLearning outsourcing in India. The article lists and describes
some preventive measures, which if taken by organizations wishing
to outsource content development, would lead to a good outsourcing
experience.
From the Wavelength Newsroom:
The first session of the IDSP Online
is already underway, with course participants from all over India.
The depth of thoughts and the strength of expression displayed by
the course participants of the IDSP Online make me feel proud of
being a part of this industry. With such thought-leaders at the
helm, I see a great future for the Indian eLearning and training
industry. I thank them and the participants of IDCWC
Online for being with us and inspiring us to do our best.
If you have four or more years of experience in a learning-related
area, and if you want to learn instructional design for applying
it to your area of expertise, you are welcome to apply for the IDSP
Online.
The next sessions for the IDSP Online as well as the IDCWC
Online are scheduled to begin on January 01, 2008. We are currently
receiving applications for both the courses.
The IDCWC Contact session and the
ActionScript 2.0 Developer Certificate (ASDC) (for which classes
are conducted at Wavelength, Noida) shall begin on December 23,
2007. If you wish to enroll for any of our contact courses, please
call us at 9810324284.
I hope that you will find time to go through the newsletter,
even though the next test match between India and Pakistan is beginning
on November 30! I wish India the best – in cricket, in eLearning,
in IT, in everything!
Thanks and Warm Regards,
Shafali
Shafali R. Anand.
