From the Editor's Desk - October
2008                                         Previous Editorials >>>

Welcome to this edition of Wavelength.

Ah…the cool breeze that floats in through my window to wake me up has the soft touch of October. The breeze shall evolve into wind, and its touch would chill my marrow…as we chug towards December. Nothing ever remains the same, nothing! How I long for those years when I welcomed the change with open arms, when the rise and fall in temperature made me feel alive and not apprehensive. I have changed. Today I frown at each little change for I’ve learned to fear the unexpected. I have learned that the skills that I have today may be worth nothing tomorrow, if I don’t grow them with time.

But then some skills are timeless. They would always help, no matter which direction you decide to steer your life into. Instructional Design is one such skill; Communication is another. Communication is about transfer of information and so it has deep-rooted family ties with instructional design. This is also why we see that many principles of instructional design can be used to enhance communication effectiveness. This month’s article, “Effective Communication – The ICI Method & The Four Rs of Message Composition” simplifies the essence of effective communication for those who would like to take their communication skills to the next level. In the times of change, an effective communicator is an asset for any organization.

In the previous edition of this newsletter, I had introduced two new online courses for our trainer audience. Here’s a quick recap:

The two courses that we have created to enchant our Trainer audience are:

Here’s a quick overview of these two courses:

The Instructional Design for Trainers Online (IDT Online) Certificate Course:

Audience: Trainers (with at least six months of experience) who wish to learn instructional design and enhance their training design, development, and implementation capabilities.
Duration: 3 months.
Next Session Begins: January 01, 2009
Please read the details of this course at: http://www.vibrantwavelength.com/idt_online.htm.

Please send your queries to us at idtonline[at]vibrantwavelength[dot]com or call us at 9810324284 / 0120-4315505

The ELearning for Trainers Online (ELT Online) Certificate Course:

Audience: Trainers (with at least six months of experience) who are comfortable with instructional design but would like to learn eLearning content development to extend their training programs.
Duration: 2 months.
Next Session Begins: January 01, 2009
Please read the details of this course at: http://www.vibrantwavelength.com/elt_online.htm.

Please send your queries to us at eltonline[at]vibrantwavelength[dot]com or call us at 9810324284 / 0120-4315505

These two courses have been designed and develop with the Trainer’s existing competencies and learning needs in mind. They talk to you trainer-to-trainer and connect instructional design or eLearning, as the case may be, with your work. And what’s more is that they build upon our learning from our previous online courses that you’ve loved and admired so much; and thus, they shift the bar of Wavelength’s quality higher than ever before.
